Kaffe Fassett fabrics are a fabulous riot of colour & pattern & I just couldn’t resist the 20 Year Anniversary Collection of Kaffe Fassett fabrics by Rowan – 20 fat quarters selected by Kaffe.
I came across Kaffe & his incredible gift for colour when my kids were little. I found a wonderful book full of his glorious knits in the local library. That book was my introduction into the incredible world of Kaffe Fasset & I have quite a few (read many) of his books, not only on quilting but knitting, mosaics & inspiration.
My most treasured of these books is Kaffe’s book – Patchwork, which I was lucky enough to get signed when I attended a talk by Kaffe at a craft show many years ago.
I have collected a few bits & pieces of Kaffe fabrics over the years but have yet to make a quilt with them, so when this gorgeous box of fat quarters turned up it was time to take the colour plunge.
Now to find a pattern that will showcase these most beautiful fabrics.
When I saw this pattern, Moroccan Vibe, in the book One Wonderful Curve – 12 Contemporary Quilts by the incredibly talented team at Sew Kind of Wonderful, immediately I thought the quilt would look incredibly luscious in Kaffe’s fabrics.
I still haven’t decided what fabric to use for the background, but the Kona solid – charcoal could be a wonderful foil to the vibrancy of colour & pattern of the fat quarters.
What would you choose?
