Ok, so now it is Tuesday & my heading is Sunday Stash, so what the???
It is a bit of a tale of woe that I am sure we have all experienced,
computer operator error, pressed publish & was only left with one image & all my beautiful words GONE. Oh well yell at computer for a while, why did you do this? how did it happen? I don’t know, switched the retched thing off & went to bed. So here we go, second time lucky!
Well that makes it Monday/Sunday Stash but I have a legitimate excuse for the past Sunday, it was my Blossom childs 18th birthday, so the kitchen was my main place of joy on Sunday creating a birthday cake & a special dinner.
Now my excuses are out in the open, my
sunday someday this week stash is a lovely mini charm pack of moda fabric, the new range Regent Street Lawn 2016. It is full of luscious cerise pinks & acid greens that contrast so wonderfully with the navy bases & lights.
I wanted to make something with this for my Blossom child as I knew she liked last years range, so I pinched a couple of ends of her jelly roll from the 2015 collection & mixed with this years colours, created a gift for her.
Here is my Easy Mini Charm purse that I stitched for her birthday – my original pattern which will be available in my etsy shop soon!
I wanted to make her something to go with her ‘new’ denim jacket & the rich, vibrant colours in this fabric range just sing alongside the denim. I love a bit of freehand quilting (thats what I like to call my style of stitching). It is vary rarely straight lines like kantha stitching, & I tried following the lines on a sashiko pattern once, so not like that either, just thread the needle & follow it wherever it wanders. I think the density of the stitching really adds to the overall richness of the whole purse, what do you think?
I hope the purse & denim jacket spend many wonderful hours together in the delights of young adulthood!
Happy Birthday my Blossom child xxx
Oh & please go out & buy or borrow or read in the library Mollie Sparkles article in Textile Fibre Forum magazine, it will make you smile – thanks Mollie x
