Another sunday stash link up with Mollie Sparkles!
Sunday stash this week is the gorgeous Tilda Cabbage Rose fat quarter bundle that I just loved as soon as it was delivered to where I work. I have admired Tilda fabrics from afar for quite a long while & just love her books – I am still a sucker for a lovely dolly! but I had not bought any fabric up until now. The burnt oranges & teal blues are just wonderful together & a much stronger colour palette than I have seen before & I felt that it would look wonderful for my more ‘modern’ style of appliqué.
The stitched piece in the photo is one of my blossom purses that I am in the process of stitching for someone special for Christmas. I love to hand stitch so appliqué is a another way to fulfil that need, & when I feel a tad stressed (which seems to be a quite a bit lately, maybe its just the time of year?) hand stitching is my therapy!
Here is another blossom purse I am stitching for a commission.
I really like how each purse can look so uniquely different with a change of fabric & colour of thread for the quilting stitches. The thread I am using to quilt this piece is a silk thread that I have hand dyed with eucalyptus leaves which give the thread a richness of colour & a subtle sheen. The fabric for this blossom purse is Indigo by Moda.
My Blossom purse pattern will be available soon in my etsy shop!
– Christmas Day is only 7 sundays away!!!!!! better get stitching
